Dr. David Whitty has been practicing Chiropractic in downtown Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, for 26 years, at Bodyworks, which has two multiple disciplinary clinics in Charlottetown. He graduated from St. Francis Xavier University with a science degree, then went on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto and his Master of Education and Leadership from the University of Prince Edward Island. He is currently a CCA Board Director, is the Past-President of the PEI Chiropractic Association (15 years) and was Registrar for the 10 years prior. He was an Opinion Leader with the Canadian Chiropractic Guidelines Initiative, and had the privilege of seeing the profession grow and mature nationally and regionally,
Dr. Whitty’s patient population stretches from teens and youths to seniors with a focus on soft tissues and joint mobility, Dry Needling and Acupuncture and exercise programs being pivotal patient’s recovery. In 2008, he founded CrossFit PEI, one of the first CrossFit gyms in Eastern Canada, which he still operates and has incorporated into one of the clinic locations. He is a Level 4 CrossFit Coach, a Level II Olympic Weightlifting Coach, a Certified Yoga Instructor and owns the Charlottetown Yoga Space.
When not coaching or seeing patients, Dr. Whitty is an avid rough water kayaker, a former downhill ski racer who still searches those new snow falls, and golfer and scuba diver. You can almost always find one of Dr. Whitty’s dogs at the clinic with him.

Why I Serve: Having worked one day a week in a hospital physiotherapy clinic for 15 years, I’ve seen first-hand how chiropractic can work as a crucial member of a multi-disciplinary team. The increased inclusion of chiropractic into teams for new practitioners is the one of the most exciting steps forward for the profession.
